AOTW: Regenerator

What’s up, trainers! Welcome back to Ability class! Sorry for the brief hiatus, but convention season can really take a lot out of you. This week, appropriately enough, we’re discussing an Ability that can help to refresh your pokémon and give you a few extra turns in battle! We’re learning when to strategically retreat this time- this is Ability of the Week: Regenerator!

IOTW: Eviolite

I know what you are thinking. "What the Bulbasaur is an Eviolite?" That's what I thought too. Then I read into it a little. This tricky little item increases the defense and special defence of a Pokémon that is not fully evolved by 50%. In some instances, this doesn't mean much. In others, this can make certain Pokémon not only an even match for their fully evolved forms, but surpass them. Let's take a look at some of those instances.

Aaron said "I'm the host", in other words, this show was recorded LIVE at the Midwest Gaming Classic in Brookfield, WI on a Saturday night. With about 11 people, fans and newcomers, we talked all night about the days Pokemon events and other exciting things. We go over the tournaments that happened, the show floors, people we met, and so on. Lots of new guests! If you have any questions about this show, please post in the comments!

Relocating

Hello everybody! It's your friendly everyday co-host and MOTW editor Aaron! First I want to say thanks to everyone who came out to the Midwest Gaming Classic this last weekend. We had a packed room, awesome tournements, and just a generally swell time!

This week there will be no Move of the Week article due to the relocation of PKMNcast headquarters. SBJ is moving into a much larger space and me, being the co-host am obviously helping with this move. It's been a really busy week for the both of us with late nights and early mornings trying to get everything moved over, but the relocation is almost complete! We're building an entire studio just for recording with soundproofing and everything. All this is happening to bring you guys, the listeners and readers, a better PKMNcast expericence! So while we're relocating this week please take this video as a consolation prize. Your regular PKMNcast will resume this next week!

PKMN of the Week: Emolga

Because I am the nicest sister ever, not only did I do a fact, but I am also doing PKMN of the Week for Steven who is busy moving so couldn't do it. So I am sorry if this is really bad and *cough*justcopiedfrombulbapedia*cough*.

Emolga is a rodent-like Pok mon, primarily white in coloration, that most resembles a flying squirrel. He sports a vaguely hood-like patterning of black around its head, with a spiky extension of the pattern above its face. Emolga possesses winglike, yellow-colored flaps connected to its three-fingered arms. Its feet are white-colored and fairly small and its black-colored tail is in a jagged shape. Emolga appears to be based on the Japansese dwarf flying squirrel.

It is very similar to Pikachu and Emolga can store electricity on its electric sacs located on its cheeks. When threatened, it releases this electricity to fend off other Pok mon

PokéFact: Celebrating Fifteen Years (And Rambling)

Hello guys! It’s Tuesday and I don’t know if you remember, because it seriously has been awhile, but I used to post Pokéfacts on Tuesdays. Now, I really don’t know what happened during that one or two month period, but I am back now and that’s what matters right? (Actually, Steven just kinda announced my failures on the new episode, which I am on by the way [I have yet to hear it, because some people *ahem* were too “busy” to put it up, but I bet I sound terrible, because I usually do in real life, so I am sorry about that] so I figure actually posting would justify for my actions.)

So I really want to do a long post this time, to make up for my absence, so I possibly may be rambling a bit. I will try not to, but I do like to ramble, so I can make no promises. As you guys know already, Black & White came out early this month. I got Black for my birthday (thank you Stevie <3)!  Black and White brought us the fifth generation to us! Which, I find it lovely, because I remember back in the day when stealing my siblings Red and Blue games and playing their games on a Gameboy and everywhere you went was something new. I already knew a lot of the Pokémon from the anime and I basically memorized the PokéRap at the end (yes, Aaron, some of us did listen to that!), so it’s not like any of the Pokémon was new to me, but it was the whole adventure in the game that I found the most fun. I mean I didn’t want to kill a Zubat every time

Team Tactics: Kingdra

There's a thunder clap.  Rain falls from the grey-black sky and falls hard on your face.  Your opponent looks puzzled as you smile from the corner of your mouth.  You arm your Pokéballs and prepare for war.  Today will be your victory!

Welcome to the first official installment of Team Tactics!  In this bi-weekly series we will focus on a single Pokémon and discuss how you might train it, and how it functions on a team.  Keep in mind that while I consider myself fairly versed in the digital cock-fight that is Pokémon, I might not have all the answers, and I may not give you the best solution for every scenario, team, or Pokémon.  I hope that when you read these articles you will use them as a template and build on them.

This week we are focusing on Kingdra, a dual-type Water/Dragon Pokémon with some interesting abilities.

Pokémon Stadium 2 Champion Battle

First off, big, BIG, thanks to Kay for recording this and uploading it so fast. If it was Aaron, it wouldn't be up for a week. After 3 tiers of battles, yours truly, SBJ, makes it to the final against a "newcomer" named Will for the 4th tier Championship. SBJ starts off with the Dugtrio and Will starts off with the Poliwrath.
