Saturday Sketch

Hello, Hello!

This is Kay, Your New Saturday Sketch Editor!

It's good to be here, Thanks for Asking!

So as the title says, I’ll be here to bring you a new Pokémon Themed sketch and or Image each week!

So without further ado, let’s start this thing off right!

Here we have a collaboration of all of the first 150 Pokémon, well that is to say also including Mew and a special guest along from Pokémon Red/Blue/Green Versions. "Can you see who/what it is?"

So many Pokémon crammed into such a small space, The Ditto in the Middle must be going crazy with Transform confusion!

Out of so many Pokémon today, just think of all 649 together in collaboration!

The image was crafted in the Program 'Paint Tool SAI', by the artist Jen-Jen-Rose on deviantARt.

Being PKMNcast's new Saturday Sketch Editor I am always open for suggestions on the next or upcoming Saturday Sketch articles.

Please send your Suggestions to PKMNcastSaturdaySketch@gmail.com

Thanks all for reading! I'l be back next week with more to give ya'll!

This is Kay signing off!

AOTW: Mold Breaker

Hey guys! Your extraordinary eccentric editor of all things Ability, checking in! Folks, we’ve talked a lot about defensive Abilities since the debut of this article, and how you can use them to drive your opponents to enroll themselves into an insane asylum, and boy, did we have fun doing it. Heck, we still can’t get Kenny to come out from under the table ever since we set his Bayleef on fire! (Seriously, Ken, if you don’t stop holding yourself in the fetal position you’re gonna get stuck that way.) But that’s another story. Point is, fun as it is to be a conniving strategist with your Ability selection, it really sucks when you’re on the receiving end of such displays of skullduggery. So today, we’re going to turn the tables and talk about the Benedict Arnold of the Ability world! Ladies, gentlemen, ladies, Steve, this is Ability of the Week: Mold Breaker! Ladies.

Pokéfact: Because It's Punny

Oh my god, a Pokefact! These are becoming rarer than rare candy (which you should go buy in the store). And my bad jokes, bring us to today’s pokefact: the Puns of Pokemon.

Pokemon is just a book of puns. Some are clever and some, yeah, not so much.

Let’s look at some main characters: Ash Ketchum and Tracey Sketchit. Try and guess what they do. Well, there are species known as the red ash, the green ash, the blue ash, and the indigo ash and Ketchum is a more clever spelling of ‘Catch ‘Em’ and you know Ash, he gotta catch ‘em all (and then later abandon them and go to a new region, but whatever.) Tracey, is just trace with a ‘y’ and his surname Sketchit didn’t even try to be not obvious.

Getting Your Game Back. Re-Learning the TCG.

The last time you looked at your Pokemon cards you were still taking spelling tests. You’ve been out of the game for years. You’ve dug out your old psychic deck from the shadows underneath your bed. Now you want to crush some ten year old poke-face. In your years of maturing the game has changed. It is time to hit yourself with a max potion and get your grade school edge back. This is what you need to know.

While you were going to homecoming and graduating from college the owner of the Pokemon Card game changed. Which is good for the game but terrible for that old psychic deck. With a change in ownership the format for the game eliminated all of the older cards. The new format, standard, plays with cards currently from the Heart Gold Soul Silver block and forward. DON’T THROW OUT THE OLD STUFF YET! Lots of people still love to collect and if you’re sly you can trade off that Delta Series Charizard for a good chunk of what you will need to build a new deck. There is an extended format that allows you to play any and all cards but there is little to no tournament support for this format.

Saturday Sketch

I'm in depression until Christmas, so I this is very necessary. Only whovians will understand this, but I know there are a couple on here. If you have no idea what I am talking about you should go and click here and start with episode one, because there are only two people in this world: people who love Doctor Who and people who never seen it. And of course Steven is in the latter, only knowing that "it's something about a phonebox." ...So much to learn.

Anywho, this lovely comic was a collab between http://www.squidsalad.net and honeyandthewhirlwind.com. x

AOTW: Iron Barbs and Rough Skin

Well guys, it’s that time again! Settle in, and let’s talk about some piercingly potent passive pokémon powers! If hindsight is 20/20, then I have Superman’s super vision right now. When Pokémon Black and White Versions dropped earlier this year, our illustrious editor-in-chief, SBJ, encouraged the editors (and by that I mean he shouted down the stairs one day into the dungeon where he keeps us chained to our laptops when he threw down our daily ration of stale bread and stagnant water) that upon the release of the new games, we should try to relate our individual columns to them. For me, that meant articles about Moxie, Regenerator, Sand Force, and so on. But had I known that a certain steel-plated pinecone and its big brother evolution would be as popular as they are, I would have known a lot earlier to say that this is Ability of the Week: Iron Barbs AND Rough Skin!

Rare Article: Revisiting Gen III: Part One

As those of you who have been listening to It's Super Effective for the duration of my tenure there know, Gen III is my least favorite generation. I've never liked the region, I thought the Pokémon designs were lackluster, and I thought it did away with a lot of advancements introduced in Gen II.

But a lot of you list Gen III as your favorite, so I decided that I'd give it another chance by making Sapphire the version on which I will perform my first Nuzlocke Challenge (For those unfamiliar, Nuzlocke is simply a way to make Pokémon games more challenging.) I'm going to write about what my second impressions of Gen III are so far, and one more time once I have completed the game. For an idea of where I am, I have three badges and I am in Fallarbor Town.

PotW: Lileep (Kenny Edition)

One hundred million years ago, an ancient creature esided on the murky depths of the seafloor, eagerly awaiting any unsuspecting prey that might so happen to swim by. The wait was usually long and harsh, but well worth it. When something did happen to swim by, this creature of the depths hungrily extended its tentacle-like petals, grabbed the little morsel, and devoured it whole. Although this may sound like the premise to some horror movie I am, as a matter of fact, speaking of this week's Pokémon of the week; Lileep! Bet you never saw the cute little Rock/Grass Type in such a sinnister light, huh?
