AOTW: Trace

Today, my friends, we discuss a rather unique Ability, and in some ways, every Ability. A passive power that will turn any opponent into the Darth Vader to your Obi-Wan, the René Belloq to your Indiana Jones, the George Lucas to your competent fan base. This Ability creates the ultimate antagonist to your adversary: yourself. This is Ability of the Week: Trace!

Saturday Sketch

Hello, Hello everyone, Good Morning to you all, Or Evening, Or Afternoon, Or Whatever time it is to you!

Today I’m bringing you another compilation of the Original 151 Pokémon.

This piece of work is called “1st Pokemon Generation BrawL

It was created by ~DRLM

According to the info on this work, it took up to 25-30 Hours “January to July” to complete it.

My favorite part about this is the Ditto in the Pokéball’s center / button. To me it symbolizes that since Ditto can transform it can be any of the Pokémon that surrounds it.

I also really enjoy how each Pokémon has an emotion, from their outrageously smiling faces to Snorlax’s sleepy face!

Well that’s it for this week’s Saturday Sketch. Check back next week for a Black and White themed Sketch, since it’s coming up on the 1 year Anniversary in the United States since its release.

Rare Article: 3 Things in Pokémon You Probably Misunderstand

The inspiration for this article, which will be about misunderstandings in the Pokémon world, comes my misunderstanding of one of the comments on my last post. Now isn't that funny? I know. It's not that funny, but you don't need to be so hard on me.

This will be an exploration of concepts in the Pokémon videogames that are often misunderstood, just like that kid who always sat alone in the middle school lunch room (read: all of us.) Get ready to have your mind blown like that Psyduck on your right.

AOTW: Rock Head

Everything in life has pros and cons, trainerinos and trainerettes. For every decade with Dexter’s Laboratory, there’s another one with Dude, What Would Happen? Shame on you, Cartoon Network for allowing such an epic failure. The same goes for Pokémon. Sometimes you find yourself with the opportunity to pack a wicked powerful attack, but the recoil cost is too high, and you don’t even get the comedy value of emasculating Will Smith. And there’s nothing you can do to stop it.

G’night, everybody!

Okay, c’mon, you guys know my schtick by now, I gotta mess with you a little bit! This is Ability of the Week: Rock Head!

Trainers! Trainers for States

The heart and soul of any great deck is its trainers. Even decks that run the silliest Pokemon lines still stand a solid chance if they’ve built their trainer base correctly. With the EX wave dropping into the format there are a few trainers that I think will spike in popularity before states.

The card that a lot of people have been talking about is Lost Remover. Its an important addition into your deck to get rid of Double Colorless Energy, which every EX is going to use. The card that people aren’t talking about is Crushing Hammer. Lets do some Pro-Con work here. Lost Remover is a guarantee removal of a special energy. Crushing Hammer flips a coin to remove any energy. So we can’t count on Crushing Hammer but it has more playability. How to pick between these two? Really it comes down to Junk Arms. If you’re running Junk Arm, and you like to push chance, I think Crushing Hammer is the better pick.  I’d run something like one or two Lost Removers and then three to four Crushing Hammers.
