Saturday Sketch

SATURDAY, SATURDAY, SATURDAY!

What day is it everyone?

SATURDAY!

Meaning time for another Saturday Sketch!

This week as some of you may have seen already, there has been a large gallery that has appeared on the interwebs.

This gallery consists of the First Generation’s 151 Pokémon.

The gallery is titled “The Pokémon Battle Royale” and can be found on Tumblr!

So a little information about this gallery...

  • ·        151 Pokémon in the gallery
  • ·        151 Artists

The description on Tumblr:

“151 artists have each selected and created original works of art inspired by each of the original 151 Pokémon. From Bulbasaur to Mew, each Pokémon is represented and injected with the artists’ own aesthetic, style, and creativity, exploring just what made those little Pokémon so interesting and fun to catch.

The Pokémon Battle Royale was a curated art show curated by Alyssa Nassner (@smalltalk) and Bryan Ische (@ishyyyyy) in the spring of 2012.”

So now that you know about this gallery let’s take a look at some of the works contained in this gallery of amazingness.

So you like Pokémon and the Simpsons huh?

Well you may perhaps like this crossover.

Homer J. “Dratini” Simpson.

In all honesty this kind of seems right...

“#147 Dratini by Adam J. Kurtz

Oh that Crazy Hypno, what will he do next?

Actually… let’s not get into what he’s possibly going to do next...

“#97 Hypno by Jordan Jeffries

MOVING ON!

After seeing this one…  I don’t think I will ever see Clefairy the same again.

As a matter of fact she looks very happy to see you!

“#35 Clefairy by Mikey McCollor

Pidgey ain’t picking on Weedle for much longer! Forget evolution! This Weedle is not messing around, it will Body Slam you! Perhaps actually one day it will break the fourth wall and become the most powerful bug in its class!

“#13 Weedle by Tyson Hesse

Well that’s it for this week’s Saturday Sketch (‘s)!

Hope you enjoyed taking a tiny look at this gallery!

This is truly some outstanding work and you should check out the full thing!

You can even purchase some of the work as prints!

Check it out at the Tumblr!

Saturday Sketch

Hello everyone, Welcome to Saturday Sketch!

If we haven’t met yet, you can call me Kay, and if you’re a returning fan of the Saturday Sketch segment, Welcome back!

As I am writing this it is very late for me and been a long, long day.

So please excuse me if I make this short and sweet.

In these weeks featured Sketch we have “Kyurem Black and White”.

The reason I chose this piece for this week’s Sketch is because of the recent news released on Black2/White2.

And if you take a look at this artwork you have to admit that these Kyurem forms look pretty darn cool.

I am sure we are all in for a great new Pokémon adventure!

In my beliefs this week’s Sketch would make a really nice background for any Pokéfan!

The work was made by =arkeis-pokemon on deviantART.

That’s it for the sketch this week, thanks for viewing.

As always I’m Kay and I’m signing out!

Saturday Sketch

Today, is the second day of the festivities at C2E2, as most of you know PKMNcast had a panel yesterday/Friday the 13th.  Since I am writing this in the past, and cannot predict the future, I am going to go out on a whim and say that the Panel went very well. “Here’s to hoping!”

But anyways let’s move on to Saturday Sketch!

Here we have an AMAZING Farfetch’d titled “Craft Farfetch’d”.
The title is named as such because it was drawn on craft paper.

It was done by *raizy on deviantART.

Farfetch’d is an overlooked Pokémon in my Opinion, it may have horrible stats, but there are chances it could fit in on a team. I won’t go into details on how to make it fit in because this is not my area of expertise.

However this drawing looks amazing and Farfetch’d has defiantly moved up on my list of favorite Pokémon.

That’s it for this week, be sure to check out the artist and their other Pokémon related works, they are quite awesome as well!

Oh and this weeks Saturday Sketch was suggested by Alec! If you don't have him added on Twitter add him! @alec_rose

Saturday Sketch

This week I bring you something a little different than a sketch, actually it’s not a sketch at all.

However it still remains that it is a form or art that is inspired by a video game created in a video game.

The video game the work was created in is non-other than Minecraft.

Although Minecraft is not entirely Pokémon related I am sure that many people who play Pokémon enjoy it just as well.

So here we have some cool Pokémon inspired creations that were made in Minecraft.

You can find these and many more images just by searching Pokémon and Minecraft together in any search engine.

“Sorry for the lazy way of finding more images a mistake came across on my part when finding these images.”

The reason that I chose Pokémon Minecraft art this week is because I recently started a Minecraft server for the Pokémon community!

If you are into Minecraft and would like to join the server, please contact me on Twitter and I will provide you with the server information.

Edit: 4/8/2012

I have added a new Photo as you can see on the front page.

This photo was screencaped from the Server!

And a higher view of the starting town, "still in progress".

If you would like in on the server please contact Alec.

His Twitter is @alec_rose

Thank you for viewing this weeks Saturday Sketch and have a great week!

Saturday Sketch

Hello everyone!

Today is the last day of March!

This month was pretty awesome, but if you were at MGC over the last weekend you would already know it!

Anyways let’s move on to this week’s Saturday Sketch!

Kyogre Groudon Legends

Two cards that have been  “100% self drawn,” by the user  ~MapleDragon on deviantART

I really enjoyed the artwork put into these cards, they look like they could be the real deal!

The artist also does some more Pokémon inspired art, and these other works look pretty awesome, you all should defiantly check them out!

That’s the Saturday Sketch for this week!

If you haven’t already be sure to listen to the latest episode - MGC Recap Episode – 072

And check out the PokéSnap to see some of the fun we all had at MGC – PokéSnap

Also in the next couple weeks PKMNcast will have a Panel at C2E2! If you’re in the Chicago area swing by and try to check it out! - C2E2 Info Page

Thanks for viewing the Saturday Sketch!

Saturday Sketch

This week’s featured artist goes by the name ~ChelseaRule on deviantART.

The work is named “Evolving in Size”, and it is a very fitful name for the artwork.

The artist did this work on three separate cups, a 12oz, 16oz and a 20oz cup. Each is an evolution of Charmander.

Going from the smallest to a larger size, the cups evolve just like an evolutionary scale.

The Charizard look’s amazing along with the other primary evolutions.

In my opinion they would look great Colored!

I actually found this on deviantART’s front page, and the front page always consists of uploaded now content so I believe it was a rare find.

The unfortunate thing about this artist is that there are no other works like this or any other Pokémon related pieces in their deviations.

That’s it for this week, C-ya all next week.
KayCStreet OUT!

Saturday Sketch

Hello everyone, Welcome to Saturday, SATURDAY, SATURDAY Sketch!

This week I’m back with an Artist Suggestion from @jstinftw.

The artist makes some really creative Pokémon art that can be found on deviantART.

The artist goes by the name of                  *Leashe.

They do some rather creative realistic Pokémon art, and so that is my choice of this week to bring to you.

In the image shown above it is titled IPL Espeon vs Jolteon. The reason I chose this one is because it had a Jolteon in it. “If you didn’t know Jolteon is my forever and always Favorite Pokémon.”

This battle takes place in a Coliseum type arena with the trainers standing on top of the Coliseum rooting their Pokémon on.

To me this looks like a very intense battle.

Jolteon using Thunder!

Espeon using Protect!

Who do you believe will be the Victor!?

Well I hope you all enjoyed the Sketch this week!

And I’m hoping that no one minds but if you didn’t know a few People are doing Let’s Play’s on Livestream. So if you feel like checking them out here are the links!

Again thanks for viewing this week’s Saturday Sketch and I will see you all again next week!

Saturday Sketch

March 4, 2011 – The Date Pokémon Black and White was released in Europe.

March 6, 2011 – The Date Pokémon Black and White was released in North America.

March 10, 2011 – The Date Pokémon Black and White was released in Australia.

What do all these Releases have in common?

Well their commonalities are that they are each coming up on their One Year Anniversary!

With the expansion of Black and White there were 156 new Pokémon that were added to today’s Pokédex.

So because of the close to One year anniversary, Today’s Saturday Sketch will be on these new Pokémon that have come so close to our hearts in the recent year.

In the image we have most of the new Unova Pokémon, the artist excluded Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem and one other that was not mentioned.

The title of the work is named “154 isshu POKEMON wallpaper

It was created by ~c4tman

So Congratulations to Pokémon for their 16 years, and also their Year anniversary in the stated regions of the world above!

Saturday Sketch

Hello, Hello everyone, Good Morning to you all, Or Evening, Or Afternoon, Or Whatever time it is to you!

Today I’m bringing you another compilation of the Original 151 Pokémon.

This piece of work is called “1st Pokemon Generation BrawL

It was created by ~DRLM

According to the info on this work, it took up to 25-30 Hours “January to July” to complete it.

My favorite part about this is the Ditto in the Pokéball’s center / button. To me it symbolizes that since Ditto can transform it can be any of the Pokémon that surrounds it.

I also really enjoy how each Pokémon has an emotion, from their outrageously smiling faces to Snorlax’s sleepy face!

Well that’s it for this week’s Saturday Sketch. Check back next week for a Black and White themed Sketch, since it’s coming up on the 1 year Anniversary in the United States since its release.

Saturday Sketch

Remember the times when Disney was great? When anything they released would have been a smashing hit? But now today we get Hannah Montana and all these movies and stuff that do not include the classic Mickey Mouse and the what not.

The reason I’m speaking of Disney is because that is kind of the the topic of this week’s Pokémon Saturday Sketch!  How you may ask? See more after the break!
