Day Five

As days  go, this one was pretty unique!

Morning: 7:20 AM

Boy, Gym Leader Erika sure is tough! The team and I continued our assault on the gym. But I'm still experiencing strange blackouts in my memory. One minute I'm caught up in the heat of the battle, the next thing I know I wake up in the Pokémon Center with no recollection of how I got there. I will definitely have to consult the Helix fossil on this matter.

Noon: 12:00 PM

I was successfully able to Defeat Erika for my RAINBOW BADGE! I don't know what we would have done without Dux, relentlessly hacking away at those trees. I was so enthralled with Dux's tree cutting abilities, I may have spent a good few hours exploring Celadon City to find more trees.

Note to self: It is apparently NOT okay to let Dux use cut in other people’s houses.

After defeating Erika, I ran into a nice man while rummaging through his house, he gave me a special Pokémon! An Eevee I think he said it was called, he went on to explain that Eevee could evolve into multiple types of Pokémon! He also explained to me that soon I will need to cross a lot of water to continue my journey. He directed me to the Celadon City PokéMart, where he said I could find a Water stone to evolve my Eevee!

Note to self: Buy a water stone! Ride some waves!

Mid-Afternoon: 3:30 PM

Well... I had every intention of buying that water stone... but just as I was about to check out... Water stone in hand, a faint red glimmer caught my eye and something just told me I needed to buy a fire stone instead. It may have cost nearly every dollar I had, but I think it was money well spent. After consulting the Helix fossil, I took my remaining money and went up to the rooftop and bought what was probably the most delicious soda pop of my life.

Note to self: Retrieve Eevee from my box and Evolve it into Flareon!

Afternoon: 5:24 PM

Oh JOURNAL, What have I DONE!? How could I be so careless? There were so many buttons, UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, A, B, START There were JUST SO MANY BUTTONS! How was I to know what to press?!! Before I knew it, I had released my beloved Rattata Jay Leno!, and to make the situation even more catastrophic, my Charmeleon, Abby, was also released in the madness.  Have I done something wrong? Did I anger the Helix? Maybe buying that fire stone wasn't the best idea after all? At least I managed to pull Eevee out without incident…

Note to self: Repent! Consult the Helix!

Late Afternoon:  7:32 PM

I'm okay. I'm okay, Journal. I've calmed down a little bit. I consulted the Helix, and I know this is just a part of his plan. Helix will guide me to be the best Pokémon trainer of all time! The loss of Jay and Abby will not be forgotten, but I will persevere!

Also, I evolved Eevee, but something's just not right . . . Every time I let Flareon out of his ball, he just stares at me with those black, empty eyes. He gives me the creeps! Even the rest of my Pokémon seem on edge. I'll be sure to keep a close eye on him.

Note to self: Check Pokedex for the location of Bulbasaur. Gotta get me one of those!

Night: 10:15 PM

Well after several more hours of exploring, a few more Pokémon caught and a few more seen. I decided to take a break at the Game Corner in Celadon. I was minding my own business and went to the back to find a restroom when I noticed the coolest poster on the wall. But as I was heading up to it, I tripped, and Blam-O! I fell right through a SECRET entrance.... But really, who hides their secret base behind a poster? I'll be sure to thoroughly check this place out.

Note to self: Find out who came up with the poster idea . . .

Late Night: 11:41 PM

Well it seems like this place belongs to Team Rocket! I should have known! I wonder if they have any relation to that Missile gang? It will be a bit harder to get through than I thought. This place has these crazy floor tiles. I get all tingly and spin wildly in every direction every time I step on one. To make things worse, Digrat keeps popping out of his Pokéball and digging a way out. One time, Flareon spooked Digrat when we were almost through and I again had to start from the beginning. At least Digrat knows his way back to the Pokémon Center!

Note to self: Look for an elevator, that might make things easier.

Well, I'm off to find my way through this base. I'll update you tomorrow, Journal. Good night!
